Chinese New Year Lapbook

Chinese New Year will be here in a little more than a week.  If you are planning to do some Chinese New Year related activities with your preschooler, do check out the Chinese New Year lapbook that I created for my #3 when he was 4 years old.

I wrote a post a few years ago about our Chinese New Year unit study.  In that post, I shared about the activities we did and books that we read as part of our Chinese New Year unit study.  I hope it gives you some ideas for activities to do with your child.  What was not mentioned in that article was that we usually bring our children to the Chinatown before Chinese New Year as a field trip (and to do some shopping) when they were little.  Chinatown can be really crowded during the period leading up to the Chinese New Year, but it also means it is a great place to soak in the festive atmosphere and get some Chinese New Year vibes.  Avoid bringing a baby stroller, if you can, because the place is really crowded and not stroller friendly.  We usually get there in the morning when the crowd is less and the weather cooler.
