Every lesson in each Siwukuaidu volume covers some vocabulary using the Chinese characters learned in previous and current lessons. I have created a set of Vocabulary Word Search worksheets for Siwukuaidu Volume 1. The answer key is included. If you are not using the Siwukuaidu series, you can still use this set of worksheets as the vocabulary are all in the worksheets answer key for your reference. Just that the learning will not be in context as you do not have the sentences in the book to show you how the vocabulary words are used.
The worksheets are simple to use. Just like any word search worksheet, the student just need to look for the words and circle them. For this set of worksheets, the vocabulary words can go side ways, downwards or diagonally. You can either print them out as is to use, or laminate them and use a whiteboard marker (non-permanent marker) to circle the words, which you can then erase and reuse again.
I used Siwukuaidu to teach my #2 and #3 how to read Chinese. I feel that it is an excellent set of material compared to other Chinese character series because instead of choosing a group of high frequency characters randomly, Siwukuaidu puts the characters into words and sentences almost right from the beginning so that the child can learn in context and understand what the characters mean and how to use them.
If you are not familiar with Siwukuaidu, you can find out more about it here. I have also created other resources for it which you can find them under the Printables. At the time of this post, I think you can find Siwukuaidu in Maha Yuyi. Alternatively, if you are savvy with making online purchases from China, you can try getting them from shops like Dang Dang or the Taobao platform.
