Steamed Fish Steak Print E-mail
Apr 12, 2005 at 11:32 AM

Basically, eating a lot of fish is supposed to help increase your milk supply.  So remember to eat a lot of fish during your confinement.  If you do not use the white fish specified in the recipes here, you can use threadfins ('ngor hur'), which is believed to be breastmilk-boosting.

Ingredients

300g      White Fish Steak

6 pcs     Red Dates, stoned

50 g      lean pork, julianned

10g       spring onion. chopped finely

10g       coriander leaves, chopped finely

2 slices  old ginger, julianned finely

Marinade for Fish

1 tsp    salt

1 tsp    sugar

1 tsp    light soya sauce

1 tbs    oil

Pepper

Steps

  1. Clean and wash fish steak thoroughly.  Pat dry with kitchen towel.  Marinate for 5 minutes.
  2. Add stoned red dates and shredded lean pork to marinated fish.
  3. Pour contents onto a steaming plate, arranging the red dates and lean pork on top of the fish.  Sprinkle on the ginger and steam for 10 minutes over high flame.
  4. Garnish with spring onion and coriander leaves just before serving.
