Fever Porridge Print E-mail
Apr 07, 2008 at 10:49 PM

Image  I give this porridge to my baby when he has a fever and does not have much appetite to eat.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon Rice grains
1/2 cup         Stock - An approximate amount.  Use enough to cook the grains into porridge.
1/2               Small Japanese cucumber, leave the skin on.

Method

1. Wash the rice grains and cook in stock as you would for normal porridge cooking.  Cook until the rice grains are very soft.
2. Grate the cucumber very fine, or you can puree in a food processor.  I use my Japanese grater.

3. When the porridge is cooked, turn the heat off and add the cucumber.  Cover the pot and leave the cucumber to cook in the heat of the porridge.

Serving : This makes a small portion, about 1/4 - 1/2 a rice bowl.
