Everyday, there is something new. This is especially true for the first year and a half when there are a lot of 'Firsts' and milestones. Everyday is a celebration. But all too soon, the baby is no more and you have a toddler at home instead. And all too soon, the toddler will grow up to be a regular boy/girl. All too soon all the precious moments become just a vague memory. Most of us try to capture all these precious moments with cameras or video cameras. These are wonderful ways of keeping the memories. But I find that even though 'a picture speaks a thousand words', all these photos and videos cannot record the emotions the mother goes through, her feelings, her thoughts, etc. Keeping a Baby Book or Scrapebook Keeping a Baby Book or a Scrape Book, or even a Diary at least allows you to pen a few words, or scribble down some thoughts. I find commercial Baby Books too 'tailored' for any good. Yes, they may look lovely but then again, they seldom allow you to record more details like your thoughts or feelings. A Scrape Book, storing bits and pieces of mementos, including photos, would be a better tool, in my opinion. It will be entirely your creation and you can choose to incorporate your daily journal with it. With the recent grow in popularity in scrapbooking, scrapbooking materials are now easily available and the variety available are also wider. We are now spoiled for choice. Even if we are not keen on physically sticking papers together, there is always the other option of doing digital scrapbooking. There are a lot of sites (e.g. http://www.freedigitalscrapbooking.com) where you can learn all the how-to's and to share ideas with other hobbyists online. Time Capsule I just want to touch on this a little in case anyone is interested in this. I am sure all of you know what a time capsule is. You basically put a few mementos into a 'capsule' (which can be simply a box), seal it up and only open it many years later. Instead of just storing things, I suggest you also store some writings, like some journal entries, or letters to your little one. How you feel towards your little baby would be very different from how you would feel towards him when he is a teenager or an adult. When you finally open the time capsule and read those entries or letters again, they will certainly bring you back in time again. They will bring you back to your 'first love'.
