I made this number bond diagramme quite a while back when I was teaching #3 Number Bond. Number Bond concept is a very important topic in lower primary mathematics and this diagramme can be found in the primary school textbooks and workbooks. The kids see this all the time. They don’t just learn about Number Bond within 10, but use

In addition to the Chinese Colour Match I created some time back, I have also created a similar set – Chinese Numbers Match Printable – for Chinese numbers. Numbers are numbers, but in Chinese, there are characters for numbers. So it is important to know how to read and write them. This set is good for helping preschoolers learn how

I mentioned in My Favourite Mathematics Manipulatives that you can easily find fraction discs printables off the internet, print on cardstock, laminate and cut out to use. Recently, I tried making them using foam sheets instead of just printing them on cardstock. It is more work but I figured foam sheet may be easier to handle because of the thickness.

Two pandas has arrived in Singapore on 6 September 2012. They are on loan from the People’s Republic of China and this is the first time we have real pandas in our public zoo. I created a series of Chinese Radicals 部首 Minibooks printables to use along with the Siwukuaidu 四五快读 series. Every Chinese character contains one or more radicals and it is a way to classify the characters according to radical groups. Kindergarten children start learning characters by learning the radicals first. Although I do not adopt this sequence of teaching, I still teach

I started making up some storybook activities for #3 because unlike materials for English books, such things are virtually non-existent on the internet for Chinese children books. To trawl internet sites for these materials is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. It is actually faster for me to make them myself. Basically, they are like a ‘mini-lapbook’

I mention in my earlier post that I created a set of Place Value Mat that I use with my Base 10 Blocks. I also said that I made up a little story based on Max Lucado’s (christian) children books on the Wemmicks. The Wemmicks are little wooden people created by Eli, a carpenter. They are quite lovable but

The follow templates are meant to be used in conjunction with the Siwukuaidu 四五快读 word recognition system. You can, of course, use these cards to teach your child without having to buy the books. However, the books provide other teaching resources that will enhance the learning. I strongly recommend that you buy the books – I don’t earn any commission
